I agree student who have the ability to have nice handwriting and choose to not demonstrate it during daily work should have to re-do the assignment. If a parent questioned this I would show her examples of his neat beautiful handwriting and then explain that you hold high standards for all students. Do they as parents want you to lower your standards when the child has the ability to perform. If he can do it when he chooses too he will eventually tire of redoing and therefoe choose to have nice handwriting more often.
