I really like reading Jelly Belly by Robert Kimmel Smith. It is about a young boy who goes to Camp Lean Too to lose weight. It has wonderful opportunities to introduce the idea of conflict between characters and self, I-messages and eventually leads you through the steps of goal setting. The story serves as a great vehicle for teaching conflict resolution while thoroughly entertaining the students.
