classroom management
By Bailey

Clip to ScrapBook
I completely agree that it would helpn all of us to bounce our favorite and most successful management ideas off of each other prior to the beginning of school ( next week for some!). I have ordered Marv Marshall's book and
hope I am able to read it, reflect on it, and plan for using his plan before the students arrive.

At our school (grades 1-5) teachers are becoming quite tired of rewarding, rewarding, rewarding for things which are simply expected of people "in the real world" and when they go to middle school in the 6th grade. We would like to move away from the hecticness of having students use control

marks, turn their cards, etc. and move in the direction of teaching more responsibility and character (life skills necessary for success). Our students simply don't care if they have to turn their card or take a control mark or miss recess, and to make matters worse, many of our parents don't care either.

Oh well, I'll get off my soapbox and hope that the ideas will keep coming, and especially hope that I will gain some wisdom and knowledge from Marshall's book which will arrive soon.
