Traffic Stick
By Naomi

Clip to ScrapBook
I go this idea from my cooperating teacher last year. The whole school used a "traffic stick" system where you color a yard stick green, yellow, and red. At the beginning of each day, all the kid's clothespins were on green.
Of course you have more green that the others b/c that's where you want them to stay!

1 warning = flip the clip (other side of green)
2 warnings = borderline between green and yellow
3 warnings = yellow
4 warnings = red
5 or more = off the stick...and a traffic ticket sent home to be signed and returned.

The stick is carried around wherever the class goes so that other

teachers can monitor the behavior and change clips as needed. Also, a hole is drilled into the top of the stick to carry a clear paper protector with kids addresses and phone numbers plus emergency information for fires, tornadoes, etc. Good luck!
