Air Condtioning? What's that?

I teach in NJ, which can be pretty hot in May, June, and September as well. Not one school in my district is air-condtioned. Lucky for me, I teach in the basement on the shady side of the building, but it still gets hot and sticky down there. My biggest pet peeve is when the parents come in and complain to me that it is hot. Do they think I don't know that?! I don't know how we can possibly expect children and teachers to do their best when they are so uncomfortable! I wish this modern "luxury" was available to us.
