Clip to ScrapBook
Last year I had 3 individual aides and one classroom aide. I met them for lunch and we talked about what we needed to accomplish. I invited them to come in when I worked on the room, but of course that was not required one
did the others did not. I defined their roles encouraged them to have open communication via a letter which I gave them with a small gift basket and I sent the principal a letter so he knew I was trying. Five women in a room can be challengin as it can be with just 2. This year they cut my program aide and I will just have individual aides (only 2) and I have to redefine what there expectations
are. They will have to do some of the tasks the program aide did. Throughout the year, I sent good lettters about specific tasks to them and a copy to the principal and sp. ed. director. It helped them to know I was watching good and bad and commenting to them on it. It is difficult and sometimes I feel angry because my job is to teach children not adults. Oh well the good the bad and the ugly.
