Congratulations!

Congrats on the job! If I could give a new teacher in second grade any advice, it would be to love your babies. This age group will go through hoops for you if they feel like you love them and they are so eager to please and learn. Also, I have yet to find anything that they cannot do with plenty of time and encouragement. I have taught 2nd grade for 15 years and I love this age. They can be independent workers but still love their teacher and want the security of a smile and a hug. I guess all ages want that. Good luck and have a great year.
