bad parenting

face it--today's world is a lot different than it was 16 years ago when I started teaching. It's even different than it was 5 years ago. Many kids come from broken homes--school life is their only source of stability. As teachers, we must show compassion and understanding to these students. Many of them think of us as their parent.
