envelope update
By Chris

Clip to ScrapBook
I just wanted to let you all know that after I wrote this post, I gave up my search and sent out resumes (in business size envelopes that matched my paper). I got 6 calls for interviews in a week! This was enough to tell
me that the fact that it was folded instead of flat was not enough for employers to hold against me if I had a good resume. That said, each interview sat with my resume/cover letter/other materials in front of them in a stapled packet (their doing), and the envelope was long since gone. When I saw that, I decided it would look a bit nicer if it wasn't folded, so I decided I will buy
flat envelopes (just plain white, not matching, since they don't appear to exist in my area) to send more resumes if none of those interviews pans out! This would be my advice to all those who are still job searching!

PS- Kim, we have all of the store chains that you mentioned, but none of them carried the envelopes. Sixtiesbabe, I have been using SOuthworth paper and business size envelopes, which I actually bought at Office Depot, but found no sets like you mentioned... too bad, it sounds nice!
