stalk and mice

I got my piece of stalk from a farm behind my house. I think you get some at a farmer's market, you may have to wait until fall though, either that or take a drive in the country some evening.
My mice were in the bulletin board packet I bought at the teacher supply store. They were not 3-D. I just placed the half of the hat above the mouse head and stuck a couple of long pins through it to hold it up on the board. It made it look like the mice were really wearing straw hats.
I hope this helps, I know it's hard to explain, but actually very easy to put together.
