Make parents step up to the plate
By Donna

Clip to ScrapBook
I have had classes/students that literally brought me to tears as well. My best friend is.... MY CELLPHONE! When a child acts up I dial mom dad grandma whoever i can get ahold of and i say "hello mrs. so n so, this is
Tommy teacher. He is having a hard time doing his work today and he would like to talk to you about it. Then I hand the kid the phone and make him tell mom whats up. The moms DONT like being called and Most of the time they either take care of it over the phone or occasionally they have come up to school right then and there and take care of the problem. after a few calls all i have to
do now is pick up my phone and they usually stop what they are doing QUICK! It doesnt work will all but the majority are like Pavlovian dogs- When they see a cell they straighted up. Its worth the money in cell phone minutes to me. The way I look at it its cheaper than therapy.
