I subbed for 6 years at a district and was continually passed over. I then went to the principal and told him the reasons why subbing had helped me gain valuable experience, also why I liked working in the district but that| regrettably I would no longer be available for subbing in the district as I felt I was ready to contribute to a school district as a permanent classroom teacher. I expressed my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to learn through subbing and also expressed my interest in obtaining a permanent position with the district. I was contacted for an interview at the end of the summer | | (I spoke with him in March). It was a long summer for me as I was sure I should have just hung in there for a little longer. But it worked! I'm not sure if it would work for you but it may be worth chancing it to avoid going through the hassles of a law suit.
