Turtles
By Julie

Clip to ScrapBook
*A welcome to our shell sign with paper cut outs of turtle shells and each student's name around your door.
*Bulletin board w/ the turtle and the hare and the turtle finishing first - "Slow Down, Do Your Best, and You'll Come Out Ahead"
*Make a large friendly looking turtle, stick it to the wall or board, name it Myrtle and "she" can relay messages to the students each day. For example you could post your lunch menu or day's events.
*As a first day activity, have students see how many words they can make out of the word turtle or tortoise.
*Create a fact board presenting some facts about turtles and use as trivia questions. Or have students add some more research, create a KWL chart, etc.
*Have a pet turtle!!
Good luck and have fun!
