Goal Notebooks
By Julie

Clip to ScrapBook
Goal Notebooks might be another route to use with this parent. A spiral notebook is all that is needed. The student glues all letters, notes, correspondence into the notebook. You can have them journal, write in assignments, spelling words, etc. Then the parent can sign it each night. Notes that have to be returned (like the bottom of notes), can still be glued in, except the bottom half that would be returned. Then the child just cuts it off when they get to the classroom. Not sure if I'm communicating this clearly, but I know that this worked well for students in my room that had split houses. This way the weekend parent could catch up and know what was going on. Good luck!
