Kim,
Out of curiosity, what is it you dislike about the cabinets? I only have 2 cabinets in my room and would kill to have another set! (not literally, of course) Also, if you're looking for more information on the gutter book rail idea, there was a fairly long discussion of them on one of the boards about 2 months back (unforunately, I can't remember which one). I haven't tried them myself, but it is a very clever idea!
