    This is what we did with the third graders one year:
    On Monday, after reviewing the week's words, give the students a typed page with sentences that contain the speling words in them. The students study the spelling sentences throughout the week. The first activity is for the students to underline all of their spelling words in the sentences. For the test, we gave the same sheet of sentences, with the spelling words omitted. THis is a great way for helping students build context skills as well as spelling.
