Dismissal Time

After you read a story or a book to the class, the students or you write down on 3X5 index cards, 3-5 important things about the story -- for example, author, characters, something that happened at the beginning, something that happened at the end, etc. These cards are then put into a paper bag labeled "TRIVIA". Then you can pull a card out, read it, and the students have to quess the name of the story or book. I can't remember where I heard about this idea -- but it sounds good and I want to try it this year with my Kindergarteners. This activity could be used anytime during the day.
