Guided Reading Groups
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
I just started guided reading groups last year. I had three groups.
Group 1 read with me at the back table.
Group 2 sat at their seats and did handwriting, creative writing, or anything that was taught previously by me before I started the reading groups. (For example pronouns)
Group 3 went anywhere in the room to read silently their choice of reading. After 20 minutes each group then moved. All three groups are seen by me and all have adequate time to finish all work. If by chance a student gets done with their seatwork early they then go to "Building Language Skills" or centers I have around 5 different projects they may choose to do. They seem to love it. Hope this helps.
