I was thinking of doing the same thing. Here are a few from Creating Writers by Vicki Spandel.

"Adjectives and adverbs are rich and good and fattening. The main thing is not to overindulge."
--Ursula K. LeGuin

"When
I was in school I thought details were just extra words to add in a story to make it better. I thought detail was decoration or wallpaper...Details are not wallpaper; they are walls."
--Barry Lane

"Think small. The best things to write about are often the tiniest things-- your brother's junk drawer, something weird your dog once did, your grandma's loose, wiggly neck,

changing a dirty diaper, the moment you realized you were too old to take a bath with your older brother."
--Ralph Fletcher

If you are interesting in reading books on writing yourself, check out Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott and Writing Down the Bones and Wild Mind by Natalie Goldberg. I'm sure you could pull some great quotes on writing from those authors.
