Dolch List
By MJH

Clip to ScrapBook
I got my list from a book on word walls, sorry I can't think of the name of the book at this point. The list was divided into several levels and I use the pre-primer list. There are about 25 words on the list. Yes, days of the week, months, colors, and number words are important. You may also want to include a few words from your theme of study.

My word wall is on a large BB which is 6'x3' and the students use pointers to identify words. I will also pull some of the words off to use in for pocket chart activities. Ideally the word wall should be at the students eye level but since classroom are not designed by teachers you place them where they can be seen by all. If you are able to place it low for the students to interact with then do so.
