Perhaps you will have wowed them with your ideas too. I think many Principals are open to other ideas for classroom management and the fact that you were very prepared to share your idea and even had some resources to show him I'm sure made an impression. You may not get the job, but if you are applying to other schools in the same district he might mention your name to others.

And I agree with you on the idea of fewer rewards, even no rewards for expected behaviour. I think students once they understand expectations enjoy the verbal praises more than treats.
