You have to have a bachelor's degree to teach. Where I am at, we are strongly encouraged to get our Master's within five or six years (but it isn't mandatory yet). Some states say you do have to have a Master's to teach. It took me four and a half years to get my B.S. and two to get my Master's. State to state varies on the courses required so you need to check with an advisor at your university. Good Luck!
