I do this all the time. You can get an 8 X 11 size poster blown up to 24 X 36 and laminated for a little over $5.00. I have made character maps (one real cute one for Ramona using black and white clip art from Beverly Cleary's Website), Venn Diagrams, Classroom Rules etc. When things like the Venn Diagrams are laminated you can mark on them with Vis-a-vis markers and wipe off to use year after year. I love making my own. I have never tried doing a color one and I would expect color to be more expensive, but you might call them and see. I was very happy with mine. Hope that helps.
