moving
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
Moving might help you with this situation of not hearing gossip. However, there are ALWAYS going to be parents who don't like you. I seem to have one or two every year. I had one the year before last who wrote me SCREAMING
notes about this and that. You may not exactly match their, or their child's style. You may be too "strict" for the gossips' children. (Soem parents love their children to death, and to the point of being too soft, I fear.) And then, it could be something like an issue such as homework. Try to forget what this child has said about you.

When a parent came into my room this year

and told me that her daughter didn't like me, of course it stung. We, as teachers, want to do our jobs the best we can, but we also don't want people to dislike us. Still, we can't always please everybody, and I try to live daily by that thought.
