homework checklist
By Martha

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a typed class list with spaces at the top for date, subject, assignment. After each student name there is small line. In the morning I tape to my table a slip for each assignment and as the children come into the
room they come to the table and lay the assignments next to the correct paper(I fill in the date, subject and assignment on the top of each slip) and initial their name on the line. While the class is then doing their morning board work I can quickly go down the initialed column and I highlight any name with no initial(a not turned in assignment). I paper clip the assignment together with
the class list slip to the top for correcting later. Highlighted names get transferred to my late assignment white board as a reminder to those students to stay in at recess to complete the work. This works really well for me and the kids are more responsible for handing in their work while I am taking care of other concerns in the morning.
