Clip to ScrapBook
WOW! you hit the nail on the head. I just completed my first year of teaching and I thought it was just me that had this problem. here is what I did...my clip board and I became very close friends. You see I made up a grade
sheet for every student. I could cater the grades to each childs individual needs that way. Each sheet had the subject areas and nine spaces (9 weeks) below. On fridays, I would go around and give individual grades while students were in groups. That way I could assess them individually and base it upon their potential. Some students had a section for "strategies" grades (how well they
applied the strategies they were learning) All had reading, writing and math. It seemed to work well because of the dynamics of having so many ability levels in one room. I am looking forward to tweeking my system this year. this system works well with center based learning.
