resource vs. self contained

well, try this one on for size...last year was my 1st year teaching. I had resource (students going in and out of my class), self contained (students that were there with me all day) and students on consultation (less severe cases, but I had to "problem solve " with their general ed teacher and do their IEP's). I almost threw in the towel after putting myself through college as a single mom. And our goverments wonder WHY special ed is a critical needs area!
