working with an aide
By Jami

Clip to ScrapBook
I know what you mean. You don't want to offend anyone, but you need things to get done in the classroom. I ran into the same problem as a lead teacher. How I solved it was by seeing the aide as a co-teacher. It made me feel better that she was my partner, because we were able to work together to run the classroom. We had each other's backs, so to speak. She would often acknowledge that she was my aide, ready to do anything for me, but I tried to split the tasks so that we both worked on different things. It ended up working out well, and I didn't feel that I was so "bossy".
