I wanted to get newspapers to use with my students. I did have a teacher once let me borrow her newspapers but the trip up and down the elevator and across the hall in a cart was to difficult to carry. When I asked how I could have newspapers delivered to each room I got the run around- librarian said ask the principal, principal said ask the departmental chair, departmental chair said either ask librarian or principal. This is just one of many gripes with this suburban school of snobs. To me, 1 30 minute newspaper session would cut into the long 90 minute blocks of class. I think they should do newspaper summaries once a week. But we did it once in the semester. Ridiculous. But when you work in a screwed up school, anything can happen.
