intrinsic motivation

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree with you, that we need to have our kids WANT to do well and behave. However, I also feel that everyone (including adults!) like to be recognized for their achievements. I'd sure love to get a bonus for doing what
I was supposed to be doing - besides just "knowing" I loved my job and wanted to be the best at it. Does that make sense? I guess I tend to agree more that it's still okay to reward good behavior - even verbal praise is a good thing. My 1st day back to school is a teacher's seminar with Harry Wong as the presenter, so I'm curious what that's going to be like. I read his book and thoroughly
enjoyed it. I know there are different views, so I'm curious to hear about them. I can't wait to hear more about what this board presents. We may end up with a mishmash of ideas to pull together for our own room!
