INVOLVE HIM IN EVERYTHING
By Trish

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Natasha,

I talked for my first year last year. I taught 7th and 8th. In my homeroom and 1st hour, I had a student that was J.W. While I agree with several post that the student knows what he can and can not do, I feel
that communication with his/her parents are VERY important. Instead of doing Christmas theme things like stockings and santas, I chose to do a winter theme, snow and snowflakes, snowmen, etc so that HE could be involved. I talked with his mother to make sure it was ok before doing it. She appreicated the fact that I wanted him included. I feel that this is his class, I have to make modifications
for other students, why not him too?

this is a hard life style for the young. They have no choice because their parents made the decision. They live in world where they are always left out. Don't leave your little student out. A little bit of modification on your part with make such a difference in this child's life.
