kid around with them. You don't have to be buddy buddy with them, but don't be such a stiff that they laugh at you behind your back (or worse in front of you) 7&8 Pick your battles!!! Starting around 4th or 5th grade up through high school, kids are worried to death about how their peers accept them. If you pick on little things with them, don't be surprised if they make a big deal about it. It's their way of "saving face" with their peers. Of course some things need immediate attention. You will have to be the judge. @@I wished discipline wasn't such a pain in the ass.
