I'm still not over it myself By Cathy-Dee

And I'm going into my 10th year of teaching. I think sometimes it is what keeps us motivated to keep improving and looking for new ways to teach our students. I think I do not "worry" as much now about what I'm doing, instead| I "worry" about those specific kids I know I'm getting and what I need to do for them. So rather than worry about how you are worrying - take a few days to sit down and plan for the first few days of school. Think through your classroom management plans - find a website or two with new ideas you might want to try, write up your welcoming letter to the parents. And then put everything |
| away and enjoy more of the summer. I find if I let myself think about school from time to time and work on some of those silly "paperwork" details I can relax on the other days easier. And you've also had both types of years - good and bad. That's enough to make anyone a little worried. When you compare the two I'm sure you don't want another year like your first one. The nice thing is every year does get a little better - even when you have "hard classes" or parents who give you grief - you don't have all those other details to figure out like you did the first year you were teaching. And personally I think your kids are lucky to have you - I always think it's the teachers who do worry and want to do their best who really are terrific teachers.
