tips

One tip that was given to me is to hand deliver your resume to the offices of principals of schools you're interested in. If they do not know you, you want them to be able to place a face with a name. These people get tons of resumes and may not have time to interview everyone. You need to stand out. I got my interview (and eventually my job!) by being known in the district. I have substitute taught for quite some time and have gotten noticed by those in charge. In whatever way you choose, you need to make yourself known to those whose opinion matters. I just read a post further up that suggested putting your portfolio on disk and emailing it to districts. Just another example of making yourself stand out. Good luck!!
