I started my writing portfolio a couple of years ago by having my students doing their published work on a computer. I give each of my students a disc with their number on it. I keep all of the discs in a binder near the computers. The students save their writings on their disc. At the end of the quarter, the students review their writings decide which stories they want to go into their portfolio. They can print out all of them, or just the ones they want. This technique has helped my students in not only their writing skills, by in their desire to write. I have them do their pre writing on Alfa Smarts. They then transfer their writing to the computer and do the editing. Hope this will help. Andrea
