Me Book
By Jess

Clip to ScrapBook
I remember making my "ME Book" back in the third grade. Here are some things our class put in the book.
- Things I'll be doing when I am 18, 25, 35, 40, 80, etc. Our teacher put an outline of a cloud by each age and the
students made pictures and wrote down their thoughts.
- We made pictures of ourselves at 100.
- We wrote about our favorite subjects in school.
You could probably have the students rank in order from favorite to least favorite.
-We made a map of our school and the playground. Then we wrote about our favorite things to do during recess.
-Favorite foods, favorite TV shows,
favorite books, favorite animals, etc.
- We also recalled all our birthdays and why they were special.

I use poems in my first grade class and have the students write about how they are special.

I Am Me
I am special because I am me,
And there's nobody anywhere just like me,
I have my own shape and my very own size,
My very own hair and my very own eyes.
I like what I like, and dislike some things too.
You're special too, but I can't be you!
Because the very best person that I can be...
Is Me!

I'm Very Happy To Be Me
_____________ is my hair,
_____________ are my eyes.
I'm _________ years old,
I'm just the right size.
My name is _________________
And as you can see.
I'm very happy to be me.

I Am Special
Hundreds of birds in the sky,
Hundreds of fish in the sea,
Hundreds of flowers in the field,
But there's only one of me!

You could use the next poem to make a VENN diagram and compare how the boys and the girls are different & how they are the same.

Everyone's Different
I am different,
But I am the same.
I am different.
I have a different name.
I am different.
I have different hair.
I am different,
In the clothes that I wear.
I am different.
I live at a different place.
I am different,
Look at my face.
I am different,
But I am the same.
Because everyone's different
That's how we became.
