Hi Jen and all,
Here's another book.....sorry, I know GR&W is huge but his one goes along with it very nicely! It's called FLEXIBLE GROUPING IN READING: PRACTICAL WAYS TO HELP ALL STUDENTS BECOME BETTER READERS (GRADES 2-5). It's published by Scholastic. It really explains things well and has a wonderful section on assessment. It also discusses the use of all of this approach using the basal. It was $12.95 at my local teacher store and well worth it!
