Giving Choices
By FYI

Clip to ScrapBook
I've been reading the book "Teaching with Love & Logic." One of the techniques the authors suggest is to give the students choices. Like Angie wrote, make certain the choices are something you can live with!

One idea from the book is to have the students pick the math problems they want to do. For example, say you actually want them to work 10 math problems. Well, give them 20 and tell them that don't have to do them all (unless they want to), just 10 of them. They will think you are giving them a deal. They have some control - choosing which ones they will do.
