reading tents
By michele

Clip to ScrapBook
I used to make reading longhouses, tipis, or hogans every November with my kids, they absolutely LOVE it!! I've tried different ways, but have decided a long house is the easiest. I an old long wooden table, and have the kids crumple up brown paper (to look like leather) and we staple the paper to cover the table. I put crumpled blankets on the top of the table v(under the brown paper) to create the rounded roof look. Some years we paint Native American heiroglyphics on the sides of the tent.

Good Luck! I'll keep watching to see if any good ideas for tipi's are out there, as I would love to create one of those sometime!
