Saxon
By Kevin

Clip to ScrapBook
I love the Saxon program. I used to teach the math where you would have a unit on one area then move on to the next area, but with Saxon...it makes sense to always reinforce with the students the different objectives. I teach 5th grade and my students are well prepared for 6th grade math because of the Saxon program. I use a lot of supplemental material, but I basically stick to the Saxon theory of students correcting their work, doing the timed tests, going over the mental math box, doing the lesson for the day, then giving students the time to work on problems in class. Once you go through the book your first year, you'll find ways to add to your Saxon program or follow the Saxon guidelines.
