Steve Dunn
By Jayne

Clip to ScrapBook
I am in my third year of using Steve Dunn's Writer's Workshop program. I teach fourth grade in CA so I have to prepare students for a state wide 60 minute writing prompt as part of the SAT9. I can tell you that this program
ABSOLUTELY works for all level of learners. While you will still face the same old spelling and homophone problems even after focus lessons when you see an RSP student write a four paragraph story with a simile and at least ten adjectives you know that it works. Kids really enjoy writing and also listening to others. Another key benefit is that students learn how to question authors
which encourages higher level thinking and promotes reading comprehension. Students also understand the direct connection between reading and writing. I could go on for days but please....make your classroom a community of writers using this simple to implement program!!! You will not regret it.
