the school the district hates

I teach in the school that the district hates. It has been known as the worst school to teach in with the worst students. I think it is rediculous. I have been teaching in this school for going on five years now and yes
the kids are tough because they are bused to us from the city. We are just on the outskirts of the city so we get most of our kids from there and the neighborhood our building is in. Because our students are low in skills, with no help from the district mind you, we get the bad repuation. Then add on that I teach 5th grade and I get those looks of poor you and I am glad I don't teach that

age in that school. So I keep my head up high and I just let others know that I teach a great age at a great school. Don't let others negativity get you down. You know you can do it so thats all that matters. The teachers in my building knew we could prove to the state that we were doing the best for our kids and we did this year and got a rating of Commendable. Now the challenge is really on for us. BUT WE CAN DO IT AND WE WILL DO IT FOR OUR KIDS AND OURSELVES. Keep a postive attitude!
