AR computer
By sandy

Clip to ScrapBook
I have used AR with my 4th graders for 2 years, and up until now, we've had the 1 computer per room set up. What I do is have my kids all take the STAR reading test during the 1st week of school to find their ZPDs. As soon as we're done with this, I explain the program (although most are familiar with it by now) and they begin reading. Whenever they're finished and ready for a quiz, they sign their name in a designated spot on the markerboard in the front of the room. That way it's easy to see who's waiting. Whenever there's an appropriate moment the next in line will head back to take their quiz. They erase their name when finished. It has worked pretty well, and we seldom had much of a backlog.
