"Picture books"
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
I started using picture books last year to teach literary devices and also show examples of good writing. I odered the following book from amazon that has a list of picture books and what you can teach using them. It is called
Using Picture Storybooks to Teach Literary Devices Recommended books for Children and Young Adults volume 3 by Susan Hall.
A teacher from Mississippi who came into our school for an AR training recommened this book. I have looked through it and I plan on using it a lot in this coming year. One picture book that is great is Bubba The Cowboy Prince A fractured Texas Tale by Helen
Ketteman. You can use it for character development, voice, tone and others. It is a cute story and I know that my students will love it next year. I recommend getting both books.
