Harry Potter theme By Maggie

I was very excited about the Harry Potter theme last year. I had cute wizards on the lockers and desks. I even created a nimbus 2000 broom for each of the students. I was going to decorate the door like a picture and have| the students give the password as they enter. I had many many awesome and fun ideas; and was extremely excited about it all, until I posted them on this message board. Many of the teachers made mean comments about how it would offend them. They also said that they felt it would force their own child into something they may not enjoy. I was so disappointed, you know how teachers are | | when they get a great idea. I went to my principal and she suggested I tone it down and maybe make it a magical theme instead. I did this even using the cute wizard notepapers ect., but soon the students turned it into a Harry Potter theme themselves. I never had a problem with the parents (I even teach at a catholic school). Everyone loved it. You may start with a magical theme and then slowly turn it into HP. With the next movie coming out in November it will be great! Good Luck and have fun with it! The parents will have to realize your doing it for fun. (This year I am using an owl theme/ which again I can turn into Harry Potter, ha ha!)
