Diagramming Sentences - YEAH!
By Cora

Clip to ScrapBook
Justine,
I was thrilled to read your post. I have been a junior high teacher for 10 years and am happy to extol the virues of diagramming sentences. Yes, it is still taught; and yes, it does help students identify parts of speech. Each time a student diagrams a sentence, he or she is reinforcing everything that has been taught about subjects, verbs, objects, and modifiers. There are many resouces available for diagramming sentences. There are also several very helpful websites I would encourage you to check out.
Good luck!
