Tattoos....
By Ally

Clip to ScrapBook
Well in a perfect world, no one would care but since you can never tell what kind of thoughts people may connect with tattoos, you might want to consider wearing long sleeves...at least on the interview. Once your teaching
skills are more established, then perhaps your tattoos will not cause you any undue grief. I guess it would also depend what your tattoos look like...one man I know (not a teacher) has a devil figure on his upper arm...I can't imagine that going over well in a school.

I remember at my graduation ceremony for teachers college, one of the graduates had pink and orange hair and an eyebrow

ring...I always wondered if she was able to find a job or if her look was a stumbling block for her. Curious how important looks and style are in this profession...there is a big debate on one of these boards about whether you can go barefoot and still be considered a "professional"...

Good luck...all that grueling training with the Navy, might just be enough to get you through subbing...maybe!! Kidding...I am sure you enjoy your time teaching!
