You could have some apples on the "ground" with a basket with some apples in it and say "a bushel of super students".
For fall cut out leaves from an ellison machine in fall colors- I did that one year and it added so much color to the room.
Maybe you could create anothr tree beside it and hang a clothesline between the two- hang up some of their work.
For Easter (if you can celebrate it) you could have good work hanging and have it say "egg-cellent work"
"TREE-mendous stories" hanging from the clothesline or from the tree branches.
