You could make the outside of your door like a castle. Make a bridge out of bulletin board paper, tape it to the floor and "connect" it to the castle around your door with rope.
Have a guy blowing a horn with a scroll coming down from the horn with all of the kids names on it titled "introducing Ms. _____'s Sixth Grade Class"
