Automated Weather Source
By JohnV

Clip to ScrapBook
I have had good experiences with AWS (Automated Weather Source). Here is the link to their home page:

http://www.aws.com/aws_2001/default.asp

You can download a small
application, called Weather Bug, that will find the closest AWS weather station to your school (there are thousands of weather stations) and give you real-time weather data from that station, plus weather forecasts, radar, and such from the National Weather Service. These are small weather stations that, for the most part are on the roofs of schools, in fact if your school will pay
for one, or if you can find a sponsor, you can get one installed on the roof of your own school.

The AWS site has links to lessons for all grades, and they change the lessons frequently.

Take a look and see what you think. Let me know how it works out for you.

John
